Introduction:
This is the 5 th lesson in a sequence describing a range of aspects about school life. We have previously covered a reminder of school subjects vocabulary, school buildings and facilities vocabulary, how to give opinions and justifications (including about school uniform), how to describe a school day using time markers and begun to talk about problems at school.

The whole one hour lesson will take place in a computer room so that the pupils can individually work through activities, at a pace and level suitable for each pupil, and make the most of the This is Language website resource.

Lesson objectives:
1. To develop my listening skills, focusing on understanding longer texts containing unknown vocabulary.
2. To learn new and creative authentic ways to describe school life.
3. To reflect on how to use a range of tenses together to describe school life.

Starter:
Pupils are given a paper copy of a wordle including a range of vocabulary relating to the topic. This includes previously covered words as well as new vocabulary that they will meet in the coming activities. The pupils will find individual words in the wordle and write translations of these, recapping previous understanding. After working individually the pupils will then work in pairs to feedback their answers and support each other to work through any unknowns.
Differentiation:
Extra support: some pupils will be individually told that they can look back in their books to support them if needed.
Extension: add at least 5 extra creative topic words to the wordle.
Time taken: 10 minutes.
Method: On paper
Assessment for learning: Pupils feeding back as pairs. Pupils self-assess using answer list (complete English and Spanish vocabulary list) projected on the board at the end of the activity.
